With LBN this makes sense because only news up to 12 hours old is posted, so that's all you have to look through.

(11,133 posts)There's a time to hang up your gloves and retire from the ring. I know it's my time and I hope Joe and his supporters soon realize it's his too. He should take the grandkids fishing. He's served his country and now it's time for the a new generation to take the reins. We have plenty of good candidates that can smash Don the Con.

(39,351 posts)All the State Fair coverage Ive read is filled with quotes like this:
Dennis Schwartz, who works for the state government in Colfax, cast his kernel for Buttigieg. Schwartz said Buttigieg is "very quick on his feet."
"I like Joe. I think he's a gentleman. I think he's past his prime," Schwartz said.

Bidens stumbles matter because his prospects are based on electability. As people grow more comfortableand more excitedwith the alternatives, hell fade.

It would be better to have someone who is sharper as you note, but you have to live in the world you live in.
Things could change, but it just seems that the off ramp for the country from the craven, immoral POS old white guy is looklng like a warm, compassionate, decent old white guy.

Nah, I dont think so.
Apparently he still has the fire in his belly and the knowledge and experience to make a great President.
Getting hung up on age is so last century.

(41,832 posts)Biden did meet with the Parkland kids in the Capital, but it was after he was out of office. He met with Sandy Hook parents while he was Vice President and that is probably where he got mixed up.

Sen. Bernie Sanders said in 2016 that New York's subway took tokens, which had been gone 13 years.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren talked on CNN of "two co-equal branches of government."
Sen. Kamala Harris referred to him as "Senator Biden" during the second debate.

(25,430 posts)we won't have a nominee.
Happens to everyone, though I've noticed that the reaction tends to vary based on one's current candidate preference.
We can choose to acknowledge and understand that it's a long campaign and everyone will make mistakes (and most already have, to varying degrees), or we can keep the selective outrage machine chugging along instead of focusing on real issues.

(68,504 posts)But it won't work...it just makes people angry to see a decent man get treated this way. So, I think such attacks help Biden...they are showing both times he spoke with shooting victims (Sandy Hook and Parkland) and he looks good doing it....and the Parkland kids came to Washington and met with Biden 18...so have at it; don't think it will work.

As Waldman also wrote, Trump is waging a reelection campaign based on racism and fear, not to mention being the most prolific liar in American political history (he just passed 12,000 false or misleading claims). And what makes the focus on Bidens mouth extra aggravating is how it wipes our memories of the moronic things said by this president, as my follower @absolut_irish was so kind to remind Bidens critics.

Some of these are funny. Some are worthy of a cocked eyebrow. But they are not nearly as consequential as the racist and white supremacist beliefs parroted by Trump and the right-wing echo chamber that found their way into the manifesto of the suspect in the El Paso mass shooting, who told police his target was "Mexicans. The atmosphere of menace and danger is now indisputable. Your time would be better spent worrying about the shredding of our values, ideals and the rule of law than the flubs of a particular candidate who would put an end to this shameful chapter.
