(58,785 posts)and this site shows them on the screen, one after another. Extremely revealing from, as another article described, "...conflict-starved moderators..." Our candidates had 30 to 60 seconds to answer these trolling-for-attacks questions, with many earnest answers cut off.
CNN blew any chance at worthwhile debate, but never forgetting 2016 we should fully expect that that's what CNN's upper management/owners intended.

(58,785 posts)CNN's "debate" served up what amounts to a conservative hit job. More from the article linked above:
... And so the moderators peppered the candidates with questions that were evidently designed to produce bad answers in the short format. Question after question was framed up from the ideological perspective of a Heritage Foundation intern or otherwise crafted as a gotcha to generate a 15-second clip for Republican attack ads down the line.
On the one hand, it was a gross display of cynical political theater that wasted everyones time. On the other, congratulations to CNNs Chris Cillizza on what was undoubtedly a phenomenal night of stunted politics-like content. Here, straight from the screen, are the questions CNN decided America needed to hear.

(297,190 posts)a political hit job from a couple of cnn pundits should help tonight's candidates in knowing what to expect, anyway.

(58,785 posts)totally helpless. The constraints of the structure and contents of the questions did keep them from being able to fight effectively, though. Viewers expected them to answer the many questions which were themselves attacks designed to keep them all on the defensive, and offensive. CNN "ran the clock" by filing the program with that stuff, and candidates typically had virtually no time to turn discussion to things that needed to be said.

(28,789 posts)but i was sleeping. Now it seems they are not rerunning it free and all I'm finding are clips and commentary, which I don't really care to hear. I'd rather make up my own mind about who won.
