As I've said, she not my choice, though if by some miracle she got the nom I would vote for her. That said, there are a lot of hard feelings and mingy comments about her here on DU. She followed the rules and made the cut so she has as much a right to be up there as Delaney, Hickenlooper & Ryan...none of whom have distinguished themselves in a remarkable way, imho.

We're a strange and diverse bunch.

It will hone down soon and be much more conventional and focused. But right now, it's interesting having her there - kind of like the people who used to show up at every protest march, regardless the issue, shouting "FREE MUMIA!"

I'm particularly dismayed about her dismissing "wonkiness" and predicting people won't vote Dem if we don't radically confront our deep underlying historical and psycho-social problems. That undervalues rationality and provides an excuse for not voting Dem. There's no excuse for not voting out Trump. If our candidate doesn't usher in a spirit of hard truth telling and universal respect for love, I'll still vote for them.

I do agree that she touches on key subjects, and I'm glad she does it. But I prefer these things to be touched on in a more conventional way.

She had a couple moments. One was on flint being about race (correct). One was on the tide of ugliness trump has summoned from the dark caverns of this country (my words not hers). She came prepared. But she's a political lightweight. She seems like she could be capable of being jill Stein. Let's hope not.

another related thread that tonight, I saw that nine of my friends who are on facebook all support her. They are all, like myself, older. Unlike myself, they are all female. They are all intelligent, insightful, and good human beings. I've known them all for decades, up to about 60 years in one case. I doubt that Ms. Williamson will get the nod in the primary contest, and have zero doubt that all nine friends will vote for whoever our candidate is. I have a lot of respect for each of those nine friends, and believe that Ms. Williamson's voice should be heard, as it is similar in many wats to these women's. And they are an important part of our voting block.
