Joe Biden releases plan aimed at helping rural America.

Manning, Iowa (CNN)

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden released a plan Tuesday focusing on helping rural America through economic initiatives, investments in broadband infrastructure and expanding access to health care.

"It shouldn't matter whether you live in a skyscraper in Manhattan or you live here in Manning. Your children deserve the exact same opportunities every other child in America is entitled to," the former vice president told voters as he unveiled his plan, which the Biden campaign notes is focused on building rural communities from within.

The proposal, which Biden rolled out one day after releasing his health care policy plan, hones in on expanding access to and improving health care in these communities. Biden argued the way to protect rural hospitals is by building on the Affordable Care Act and warned of the impact of "Medicare for All," a policy proposal embraced by some of his Democratic rivals, including Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. . .

In a statement, Vilsack said he was "happy" that Biden offered a "clear and comprehensive vision" for rural America.
"In addition to addressing the unique healthcare needs for rural America Vice President Biden also outlined how we must do more for agriculture especially in trade relations and for beginning farmers, and for small farming operations that wish to market locally," he said. "I was happy to see his desire to partner with American agriculture to enable our farmers to lead a global effort to a net zero greenhouse gas emissions future for farming."'

goes in this direction, now, each and everyone has to either stand with this plan and or ad to it.

My Roots are Rural America, and heard tons of platitude's the last time around. That in it''s self left us wide open for negative responses. Please, never forget,it was the Democrat 's from the Farm Belt that opened or facilitated the opening of overseas markets in the sixties all the way to the eighties. Only to be hijacked by Reagan's Corporate Lobbyist's that created the nightmare we see today.

During the Obama admin, the Republicans kept all the focus on the social issues and keep thw media focus away from what Obama was trying to do economically for everyone.

It's probably why Bernie did so well in most rural areas in 2016 - he tried to avoid the "identity politics" as he called them.

Everyone is in favor of it, but rural needs are often invisible compared to problems in the big media centers, so rural areas take a back seat.

Pick up some rural voters, and it would actually get through the Senate, since Republicans like to bring money to their rural constituents.

This is very smart and very necessary--Dems reaching out to our fellow citizens in rural America. I like the fact that Biden is linking healthcare to other economic concerns be it broadband, micro loans, trade negotiations and/or involving rural America in the green energy push into the future. It's all connected, as we are all connected across the country.

We rise or fall together.

Good one on Biden!

His kick ass foreign policy speech, followed by a cleared eyed and achievable healthcare plan and now a pragmatic rural policy statement.

Throw in his No Holds Barred attack of trumps racist base today and he is having a good run.
