(2,231 posts)*Biden has moved around some, but seems to trend somewhere around the mid-20s, so he's on target.
*Warren dipped into the mid-single-digits earlier in the year, but has rebounded nicely.
*Sanders had been trending in the mid-20s to 30%, but has dropped notably in the latest poll. Not a good sign for him.
*Buttigieg only appears in the last three, so long-term trends are impossible. The 1% in February is almost certainly due to a lack of recognition. The 15% in April is likely to be due in part to his announcement bump. I'd guess the 10% from July is about right for him, but stay tuned in case that 5% drop is the beginning of a trend.
*Harris was low until February (name rec, then announcement bump?), then dropped in April, then rebounded in July. As with her campaign in general, April was a challenging time for her, as other candidates grabbed the spotlight. At least some of this rebound can be attributed to the first debate. We'll see if it lasts.
Finally, only 16% of respondents had "definitely decided" on a candidate of choice, with a whopping 64% not even leaning to anyone in particular. Thus, other than "thinning the herd", these polls serve little purpose at this juncture. Still, it's nice to have my preferred candidate (and my "first alternate" ) in the top echelon.
