1. I'm not at all surprised. I know Missouri--esp. rural Missouri from childhood. We may bemoan

the prevalence of those who would be (and are) susceptible to Trump, but there is an element within that same population that would be open to Biden. I could have imagined Beto O'Rourke doing better there had he more national name recognition, but that does not seem to be the case.

Not sure how long it has been since you were here, but after term limits went into effect MO turned solid red. The republicans have poured money into elections and the small number of Democratic leaning rural districts flipped. The House flipped to republican majority in 2002 and it has grown so that even Columbia is now represented by a republican state senator and some state representatives. Once the state government republicans got their hooks into some of these districts they kept getting more and more conservative.

they are genuinely able to be offended by Trump's antics. I believe their "religious beliefs" are actually more rooted than are the Mega Church evangelical opportunists that have seemingly brainwashed throughout the deep South. Still, Republicanism is the default in most of those communities dating back to when my grandparents lived there and it remains deeply enrooted today.

Yup, I'm not surprised Trump won them over. There is plenty of homophobia and not a small amount of "otherism" that can rise to the level of racism and misogyny. But, I don't think it is the kneejerk response for many. Economic resentment, absolutely. But Trump is absolutely destroying what is left of those small farmers and I sense that some of them may well "wake up". Biden would be seen as an alternative to those close to the "middle" IMO. The others, not so much.

3. Where are all these news research groups coming from? Remington?

Not saying it's not legit, but has anyone noticed a lot of new research groups springing up? What's up with that?

Anyway, yes...Joe is popular almost everywhere, isn't he? This is quite a lot, though...43% gives him room to go down and still be ahead.

Sanders isn't very popular there, looks like.

Mayor Pete has 23 million cash on hand Verses Bidens 10 million on hand don't be surprise if either one of them has a better field operation in Missouri that 43 % ain't going to hold
