(42,862 posts)They're undemocratic. They exclude anyone who can't take the time from work during the specific window of time that the caucus takes place. They typically take LONGER than simply showing up at a polling place to vote.
There's no secret-ballot.
Caucus goers are intimidated and bullied.
It's a complete DISASTER of a system and should be eliminated. So should "open primaries".

(67,782 posts)Caucuses are subject to bullying by candidate surrogates/"agents" in the caucus room
Open primaries are subject to allowing non-Democrats to participate in choosing our candidate.
I wish all states had closed primaries so that ONLY Democrats participate in choosing our candidate using secret ballots.

(11,495 posts)Nebraska, Idaho, Minnesota, and Colorado are doing away with caucuses, and Washington state probably will also.

(67,782 posts)...will go to primaries. I don't know which (one of the Dakotas?) but one state in 2016 had a caucus AND a "non-binding" primary. What's the point of that?
That's a preliminary list as of a few weeks ago, there will be changes, and lots of states haven't even established dates yet.

(10,721 posts)Now if we could just lead off with states that actually reflect our electorate. Instead of IA and NH.

(10,721 posts)Super Tuesday will likely be even worse for him than it was in 2016.
This is why talk of him being a favorite is so ridiculous.
After Super Tuesday, we will probably be left with no more than 3 or 4 contenders. And possibly just 2 or even 1.

(67,782 posts)He lost three of the four states in February, and then he gets hammered on March 3.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(10,721 posts)Making matters worse for him is that it's likely he'll do worse in IA and NH than he did in 2016. After that, the road gets very rough.
