Biden runs away with the general election head-to-head as other Democrats struggle to either break even with Trump or beat him head-to-head.

(34,857 posts)Warren is the third most known candidate among Democratic voters, only behind Sanders and Biden. It only reasons she's polling higher too among all voters.
Unless you can offer up proof to your initial claim, I'm going to say it's you who's wishing.

(34,857 posts)Let me quote it again for you:
Warren is the third most known candidate among Democratic voters, only behind Sanders and Biden. It only reasons she's polling higher too among all voters.
Unless you can point me to a poll where Warren's name recognition is well below where you'd think it would be for her to be in this tight of a race, then I'll just concede you're the one who is wishing it to be true.
The fact is, the gap between Biden and the rest of the Democrats can't be ignored. It shows two things: 1) Biden does universally better than even well-known Democrats like Bernie Sanders and 2) Unlike in 2015, where both Sanders and Hillary polled similarly against Trump, there is a legitimate gap - and has been a gap head-to-head in most polls - between Biden and the rest of the field.
Moreover, you're the one who said Warren was not very well known. Okay. Back that comment up with some facts then.

(68,753 posts)If Trump is re-elected, and the blue wall is not rebuilt we are looking at possibly a decade as in the 80's without winning a presidential race...we have no path without a moderate candidate and a rebuilt blue wall...It is clearly shown in the electoral college maps.We are in a desperate situation here.

(31,247 posts)I'm still fairly confident that, despite all the arrows coming at him from the left & the right, Biden will be the nominee. The question people have to ask is just how much they want to damage him for a potential run against tRump. Keep in mind that a damaged nominee most likely won't have significant coattails, and that would be a disaster up & down the ballot. For the sake of the party, I hope certain candidates have gotten it out of their system so we can move forward in a more positive direction.

(34,857 posts)...and in 2003, Kerry was losing to Bush. Comparing polling with a candidate Trump to polls where he's the incumbent is just silly. Moreover, by September, 2015, Clinton's lead dropped to where it would remain throughout most 2016. So even then, we're not far off from when the polls started aligning to what they would look like throughout the remainder of the campaign.

(191 posts)This can't be underestimated. At the end of the day, people vote for people they like. Joe is who he is. He's a guy that loves people, loves to talk, but may talk a bit too much sometimes, but he means well and he's trustworthy and honest.

(17,995 posts)The media attacks, plus those Who are race baiting make me more decided on those I prefer.
I have yet to hear Elizabeth Warren attack. Her message is straight forward on what she wants to accomplish. That is what I want to hear.
I do not care what happened 40,50 years ago and I think the average voter feels the same.

(13,059 posts)We don't want to see the Dem nominee winning the popular vote by a large margin yet losing by a narrow margin in the Electoral College again. Its very early but I will be watching polls from such states as North Carolina, Michigan and Florida in order to get a better handle on where we stand.
