But being "holier than thou" allows them to feel superior ...

and sometimes that's all that it is about.

Either that, or they are essentially provocateurs, doing the enemy's work for them.

3. Obama was great, but he screwed up royally when he appointed James Comey to head the FBI.

And that goes for the GOP/Chuck Grassley staffers at the State Department Inspector General's office too.

I wonder if Biden supported Comey's appointment?

8. President Obama was neither progressive nor liberal.

He and Joe are two peas in a pod. If you want more of that knock yourselves out. It won’t be tanks in the street but it won’t be viable health care either and we will continue with eternal wars.

Don’t get me wrong I worked for Obama on the run up and housed campaign workers for months to help get him elected. I think he’s smart and can talk folks down off of the ledge but as it turned out he is conservative in his actions. I think we are going to need something more to walk back the damage of Trump.

13. Unlike other pairings, Biden and Obama also became friends. That Obama trusted Biden

implicitly is evident in the many crucial tasks he assigned him. They often worked together whole days. Eight years is a fair amount of time for Obama to have seen Biden’s character in operation and certainly to witness whether Biden’s decades long commitment to civil rights was genuine or not.

But Obama’s selection of Biden should not be seen as an absolution of his civil rights history ... Just as having a problematic history on civil rights doesn’t make Biden a racist, being Obama’s vice president doesn’t release Biden from the obligation to explain his own views and record on civil rights. Biden is running to be President of the United States and, if he wants that job, he must address his entire record, not just the parts he’s proud of. And that means he has some explaining to do about his positions and actions on civil rights, in general, and busing and desegregation, in particular. If he’s the man I think he is, he’ll be willing and able to do that, openly, honestly and undefensively. But he must do it in his own voice and from his own heart, and not hide behind Barack Obama, who may be one of Biden’s best friends, but is not his "Magical Negro."
