We really are a very decent and good political party. The problem is we're a two party system which means there's no marginalized extremists like in a parliamentary system. The extreme Rights rise with Republicans is an example of this failing in our system. Our extremist have more sway than in any other modern major political system. Which is why the experts speculate Trump and his populist following have taken us over. It's also why we (Democrats) are forced to tolerate candidates we by majority on a large (but not locally in their states/districts) dislike. It's a simple majority rules system.

Basically, our system is flawed but it's what we must work within.

To point out it's not that simple. Small rural hospitals are struggling. If they had to accept lower payments without it being balanced by people who has private insurance they would go under. Turn a person's mic on when they're asked a question, turn it off when their time is up.

I don't get why people are allowed to outshout eachother, nor why the moderators have to shout to get someone to stop talking, as opposed to just shutting off their mic.

People would be much more respectful of the time limits if they ran the risk of the mic shutting off mid-answer and looking like a fool.

I'm not trashing him in any way. I like him very much as a person and politician. I find him a kind and decent person in my exchanges with him and I'd definitely vote for him in the GE with enthusiasm based in his political persuasions.

Like someone said on MSNBC in the background...they were surprised they didn't tie their thoughts as opposed to trump more. Yes, tell us what you believe but make a distinction against trump. It's like they all with a couple of exceptions, forgot who they are really running against in the end. People want to see trump go down !!!

I love Elizabeth Warren. The standout so far for me is Julian Castro. If not this time, I'm thinking he should be president one day.
deBlasio's response to income equality was stellar. Inslee is representing. Beto seems to be a target and perhaps a victim of his own past statements, and Klobuchar, who I find incredibly personable and appealing, a bit of a hawk still referring to human beings as illegal.

Also I don't know who the woman moderator is. But did she really say do you have a plan to allow people entering illegally into the country. Thanks to Julian Castro I know now how republicans have abused the law to do that. I cried watching the segment about the father and daughter who drowned.

right now my computer froze and i am not hearing anything. blargh

I was a bit disappointed in Warren, in her failure to answer questions squarely. Was hoping for more passion and bravery from her. By the end of the evening she seemed to disappear from the stage. Unfortunately, these formats favor the bold, those willing to interrupt and interject, like DeBlasio did. Women are taught to wait their turn. That did not serve Warren well tonight.

they seriously lack likeability - imho. People will say likeability is unimportant. I disagree 100%. You have to have smarts, likeability, passion and savvy. If you put that test to each of them - you can almost see how it correlates to current poll ratings.
