Bernie is only the first...why wouldn't Democratic voters start to prefer her over him??

(7,447 posts)that Bernie would start going after Warren as a faux progressive.
I don't think it's going to work beyond his base, she's VERY clearly a strong progressive with extensive bona fides.
If she is our nominee, she'd be the most progressive candidate we've had in the modern era.
But yes she wouldn't start a "revolution" so not enough for the true believers...or apparently Bernie.

but it's still pretty clearly a shot at her.
It's certainly not a "well nice to see centrists get behind a strong progressive like Warren."

(146,288 posts)Joe Biden is holding steady, though, with a 17 point advantage and still doubling his nearest competitor and a little more.
Even if you added up Warren's and Sanders' numbers, Biden would still be in the lead.

(7,447 posts)that ultimately folks will pool around an anti-whomever is in the lead.
Whether that's Biden or Bernie or Warren or whomever.
Pretty basic pattern.
We don't have a slam dunk candidate. We have one guy in the 20s to 30s. That's not a slam dunk.
Heck this time in 07, Hillary was in the high 30s and low 40s, and she had a much smaller field to contend with, with only really two other viable candidates...not the four or so Biden has.
In fact, she averaged a double digit lead all the way into mid-January 08.
