MONTPELIER The executive director of the Vermont Democratic Party is leaving to head up Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign in New Hampshire.
Julia Barnes will work in Concord, New Hampshire, and oversee the independent senator's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in the Granite State.
The 32-year-old Barnes has worked in politics in both states and has been in her Vermont job for a bit more than three years.
Barnes will be replaced in the Vermont post by Conor Casey, former political director of the Vermont State Employees' Association. Most recently, he had been political director of the Connecticut Education Association.
