I'm guessing that doesn't count the floor though, which can probably seat another 500. This means I can really go now, because there is no way I was going to wait outside for 2 hours in this brutal heat. The high Sunday is supposed to be 97° and you can add another 5+ degrees for the heat index.

I went to many concerts there in the late 70s.My mother was going to college there at UH when I was in high school. They would sell tickets to students the day before they went on sale to the general public. She was almost always able to get me floor tickets and I was usually in the first few rows. Elton John, Leon Russell, Jethro Tull, Doobie Brothers, Bette Midler (when Barry Manilow was her pianist!). GOOD TIMES! It's still used for concerts when artists don't want Ticketmaster running things.

I have kids and will try to be there - but having to wait etc may be too much with the younger child. But the time (7-8 pm) is ok for me & will try to be there.
