(45,251 posts)Every photo I've seen in the last year looks so different from most of the others, it's unreal. Literally and figuratively unreal.

(45,251 posts)Just vote for the name--but don't associate her with a former President of the same name, her actions as Secretary of State, or, indeed any of her past actions, including her 2008 primary campaign. Just take the newly-minted campaign rhetoric at face value and vote for that.
Jeebus, if I were running for POTUS after over 50 years in politics, I'd be way too embarrassed to put anything like that out there; and I am certainly not voting for someone who does put that out there.

(3,859 posts)I think it lends credence to his authenticity as someone who is a straight talker and hasn't enriched himself at the public trough.
With the possible exceptions of Trump, Perot and the elder Rand all candidates for the modern presidency have been carefully coiffed and packaged as a product in their campaigns.

(8,879 posts)I would like my money to have an influence on the outcome of the election. If I see Bernie is 7.5x earned than the second place and 23.5 times less than the front runner, I'm far less likely to donate to Bernie. (not me specifically, but an average view with a minor interest in politics). There is too much to lose for the media, given Bernie's opposition to the Citizens United outcome, for this to be an innocent mistake. Look forward to a lot more "oopsies."
