Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumThey should just hide everything that has to do with Bernie now
because what they are allowing her supporters to say and get away with, while locking hiding and booting Bernie supporters is just ridiculous now.

(57,936 posts)Just support Bernie no matter what happens.
One thing that always happens on the left is that we get angry. When we do that, our emotional energy is spent on the anger and we feel once the anger has gone, that we are helpless.
Bernie has not fallen into that cycle in his own life. He stays positive and out of that positive energy builds what is possible and good for our society.
That is what we must do.
There is no guarantee that Hillary will get the Democratic nomination even if she has the majority of the delegates. And since she does not have enough delegates to meet the required threshold by the first vote at the Convention, we can continue to back Bernie until and for those of us who wish to even after the nomination.
There is still a chance that Bernie will be the nominee. Most Hillary supporters will vote for Bernie if he is the nominee. Many, many Bernie supporters will not vote for Hillary should she be the nominee.
It's in the interest of the Democratic Party to nominate Bernie, not Hillary.
Anything can still happen.
And besides, we are building a movement, not just aiming to win an election.
Do not give way to feelings of depression or anger. They are self-defeating.
I have had a marvelous life. Stay positive. From personal and political disasters and difficulties we learn strength and how to organize ourselves more effectively.
DU is just one website in a world of real and potential websites.
Keep the faith.
Bernie is the best candidate. We all know that. Many Hillary supporters also know that. Hillary has just been hyped as the inevitable candidate.
Don't worry about it.
Keep working for Bernie and the things you believe in like compassion, love, sharing (just enough not too much), being yourself, helping others, the environment, the joy of education, and all the other good things you believe in.
Focus on the good, not on the bad.
Feel the Bern!

(3,919 posts)watching bernie's presser today and the bay rally - he is so focused. i have only seen this ability to focus by warriors - male and female - who have traveled the red road of sweat lodge and sun dance ceremonies - and others who have been tested by fire. their focus is so true it can be trusted.
thanks for your caring, powerful, and positive post.
i am an activist for protecting our waters, rivers, and forests, and all of our relations - the creepy crawlies, the winged ones, and the all of living creation. it is work that comes from deep inside and sometimes i do become discouraged, too.
however, i do not give up - instead, i bring back my focus on the the things i believe in, the people and things i love, etc. - and get recharged out of doors.
your advice is worthy of being followed and also, we can remember - we are part of the revolution - something awakened in many during occupy and fighting for what is right. onward!

(2,872 posts)It's just before eight in the morning on a Tuesday, I'm stuck at work, and carrying a flask to work is typically a no-go, so I can't even blot the crap I've read here out of my mind. Sure, I'm getting out of the military before her coronation is done with, but my little brother's going into operational army when she is... And I had a nightmare last night. I'm on my way back to my fiancée and our girlfriend after class is over with at the college I'm going to, only to see a motorcade in front of our apartment-- only to see someone get out in Class A's, with a folded up flag in their hands.
They tell me my little brother-- the boy I gave more than a pound of flesh and a quart of blood trying to protect as he grew up-- was killed in Syria. I have no doubts we're going back, and now, well, there's nothing I can do to stop it.
