Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumThere will be much disappointment here after June 16
but it will be on the part of those demanding an echo chamber (many of whom have never been here for a general election, at least not under their current usernames), not those who value real discussion.
I joined early in 2001 (my member number is 2,785), so this will be my fourth general election season here. I can tell you that DU does not become cheerleader camp. People continue to discuss issues; they simply must do it in a constructive way--this is what the nominee should do vs. the nominee is a poopiehead.
Of course, that is never good enough for the more zealous primary warriors, who are always the same people every time, no matter which candidates happen to be in the race, and who always complain bitterly whenever anyone says anything they don't like. That's what they do all the time anyway; why should things be any different for a few months every four years?
Will everyone who doesn't sing praises day and night to the nominee get banned? No.
In short, don't let the Yellow Button Club intimidate you. Few of them have any idea of what they're talking about.
It's a technical term....

(1,587 posts)I've see a lot of bad stuff go down here, but the Hillary cheerleading is the worse. People continue to get away with stuff that a Bernie supporter would be booted for. It isn't a coincidence that the owners of this site back a certain candidate and allow this mess to continue.
Personally, I'm waiting for the new rollout of JPR, after which I likely won't come around here anymore. I suggest Bernie supporters do the same, even if he wins the nomination (and I think he will, as the cheating for Hillary is getting too obvious, and even the MSM is talking about her upcoming indictments). Let them stew in their hatred of progress. We don't need them.

My dad was a preacher. He spoke from a few notes jotted on a piece of paper every Sunday and lots in between. You either have the gift to communicate with people or you don't. Hillary doesn't. She is a woman, and I would love to see a woman become president, but Hillary does not have the communication skills it takes for the job.
In addition, I disagree with her on policy. She has a very controlling personality. If Trump is wildly insane, Hillary is overly perfectionist. Maybe she isn't OCD, but she does want to be viewed as perfect anyway.
I think that Bernie still has a good chance of being our ultimate candidate. But until and unless he is, I will be out of here.
Love you all. Every one of you. I will stick around a bit, and maybe return when the inevitable disillusionment with Hillary sets in (could be sooner than you think), but JPR has been beckoning for a long time and I will also be traveling to see my children in the not-so-distant future.
I'll be back until Skinner changes the rules.
But I will not be able to keep my mouth shut about Hillary. She should not have run. She will give democracy a bad reputation.
Thanks again.

a joke................... none of her supporters post in those forums nor submit news where many of the posts get to highly nominated status that Skinner shows on his homepage.
