(50,130 posts)He posted a thread that was hidden twice, and has been asking questions about what sources are off limits here, because much of the news wrt the email case is not coming from "approved" sources despite being facts of the case.
I imagine that he is a profit source for DU, though. Considering his creds. It would be silly to shut him up.

Paulie
(8,462 posts)Admins appear to have given up with the current system, so after June they throw out the TOS, jury system as it stands, and they go more hands on. So it's let the cess pool exist time.
Disrupters/uncivil members (no matter who they support today) after the change will be in for quite a shock I expect.

Only problem is how would we get the link to the blog?

(7,321 posts)I'd go there more often if the architecture, design and layout was more similar to DU rather than the old PI site.
Skinner et al, has designed a really well done, user friendly discussion board, best I've ever engaged in the past.
Not that there's no room for improvements, but hey I can find OP's interesting to me and replies to my posts much easier in this lay out.
There, I can't even locate my own posts.

Remember that thread's OP and the jury results the next time you see a Clinton supporter posting about how mean we are and how the jury system is stacked against them.

The curious facts @ Clintons aide Cooper seems to be hitting real roadblocks.

(5,141 posts)And now that it's out they're furiously trying to stop any analysis of the evidence at hand outlined in such a way that the truth cannot be denied. They're closing ranks ahead of the FBI investigation conclusion.
Hope they'll like life under President Trump, because not only has Team Hillary alienated many Bernie supporters, no independent is going to vote for someone like that.

(5,141 posts)For eight fucking years of the Bush Administration's bullshit, we all thought if we had the chance to put a Democratic in the White House, we would set the country to right and we wouldn't continue the cloak and dagger, covert bullshit and would be open and honest and courageous. Now it seems our presumptive nominee has the propensity for the same behavior, and suddenly the excuse that the GOP did it is acceptable and parroted by people who call themselves liberals.
I feel like this is some new Dante-esque circle of hell.

(7,321 posts)I'm just reading that post through for the first time although I do recall seeing it before it was hidden.
Paul asks :who is Justin Cooper"? And then presents his very interesting thoughts regarding his involvement,
Then another poster offers another interesting name mentioned in the NYT and points to where Cooper is now:
Mr. Hothem, whose name was misspelled in Internet records, did not return a message left on Wednesday with an assistant at his office. Mr. Cooper, whose name is on the clintonemail.com domain registration, now works at Teneo Holdings, a corporate advisory firm with a broad array of global business clients partly run by Douglas J. Band, a former adviser to Bill Clinton

(36,418 posts)actually running Clinton's server, and was the one who turned it off temporarily when it was hacked early on. The most significant assertion in the Morris article is that Cooper has access to and was operating the server despite, Morris writes, that Cooper does not and never had a security clearance. I was able to confirm in a NYT report from last year that Cooper did install and initially set up the server in Clinton's house, however I was not able to find reference elsewhere to the rest.
Another thing that may have set some off is discussion of Cooper's connection to Teneo Holdings run by Doug Band who for years was Bill Clinton's closest aide and who had a major role in setting up the Clinton Foundation. Band was dropped several years ago from Clinton's entourage for, as a New Republic article linked on the thread put it, being "a gate keeper who charges a toll." The article also discusses Band's relationship with Huma Abedin, Hillary's close aide, who was also on the Teneo payroll.
Paul's post was hidden 6-1 last night. This points out two things: the danger of sourcing to figures and publications considered anethema on DU, and the desire to close off discussion on these subjects. A bad hide.

(50,130 posts)considering that Paul has been a member here for 15 years with NO HIDES, and that Paul is considered by many Americans to be a patriot and hero for the same kind of work previously.
What does it say about DU that censorship is taking place? That freepers are more likely to know about these true and factual events of the day than DU members?
leveymg
(36,418 posts)Hiding a thread that contains unfamiliar and unwanted material is really head in the sand behavior. I'm afraid, that isn't uncommon here. Makes DU a poorer place and a less credible site for news and open discussion.

(36,418 posts)You'd think that the adult reaction to seeing unfamiliar and unwelcome material is to do some research and come back and challenge the poster. But, the response was to TPP the poster. As I said, a bad hide.
riderinthestorm
(23,272 posts)My first thought was censorship but its hard to wrap one's head around the fact that Hillary's supporters really think that if they just hide this info that means it doesn't exist.
I'm also beginning to wonder how many Bernie supporters are blocked from being on juries anymore. Skinners admitted he's done that. I'm blocked and anecdotally more and more of us are as well. So Skinner may have put his weight on the scales of justice so most juries are full of HRC posters.
Cause Paul's hide there is really bad, has no reason afaik, and smacks of censorship.
On the flip side, it also means the email scandal has legs. And they know it.
2banon
(7,321 posts)Censorship is likely to be go up 10,000 notches between now and when the Feds make known their conclusions regarding their investigation
On that point: The Feds don't seem to be in a hurry, which is why I think, it's assumed there's no "there, there" by HRC supporters.
My daughter in law for instance, insists that it would have been conducted and concluded long before she tossed her hat back in the race, having faith that there is no conspiracy in play by holding off until the elections are a foregone conclusion.
I'm in no position to argue whether or not there is a conspiracy or not. the events have yet to play out. She concludes there are no legal issues which need to be considered in relation to the elections.
My daughter in law is an extremely intelligent Woman.. with an extremely flawed logic in this regard. But it is quite emblematic of the craziness before us.

Dick Morris isn't someone I tend to regard as objective either, sort of understandable. Putting his character aside.. these individuals named here and their apparent conflict of interests and access to intelligence is likely involved in the on going investigations, and should be concerning at the very least. Thank you for sussing that out for me.

(29,294 posts)Really difficult sometimes not to hide people. I only have 5 people on hide -- they have aroused a wave of revulsion on too many occasions
Every time I feel the impulse to put someone on ignore I think about this:
Members are excluded from serving if:
they have their "Willingness to serve on a DU Jury" option set to "Unwilling"
they are ignoring the alerted member
they are blocking DU mail from the alerted member
they have replied to the alerted member within the last 24 hours
they have alerted on the alerted member within the last 24 hours
they have posted in the thread which contains the alerted post
they are on the alerted member's Jury Blacklist
It's a rougher place this way but at least I get called to jury duty regularly enough to make it worth it. I am fair to the max but I am happy when I can help leave stupid alerts vs pro-Bernie posts or help hide malicious over the top garbage.
Everyone has their own way of dealing with the steaming piles that are dumped here... I don't have a plan for what I'll do if things get much worse though I am finding it easier to walk away, which is also a good life lesson

(7,321 posts)For years I only had about 2 or 3 people on ignore..
