Headline: Barbara Boxer on Nevada convention: 'I feared for my safety'
Quotes: Boxer wasn't the only Democratic senator to condemn Sanders' supporters behavior over the weekend. Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine slammed Sanders' statement in response to the outbursts.

DU Poster: It had to have been chilling and scary for Sen. Boxer. She trusts that Sanders will do the right thing and keep the violence away from the convention.
MY RESPONSE:
It doesn't matter what Bernie says. It is not about Bernie. It is about his policies, about returning the Democratic Party to the people and not the .001%, Wall Street, and psychopathic corporations.
This primary season unmasked the Party for what it has become and revealed how rigged our election system is.
The result of 35 years of policies that rob from the 98% and give to the rich and powerful, no matter who is the president or what party is in Congress, has given birth to this revolution. And, despite what the Republicans and Hillary would have you believe about incremental change, change comes when we reach the tipping point and all hell breaks loose. We have reached the tipping point and the bear is NOT going to return to hibernating.
I am disgusted with Barbara Boxer, with the Democratic Party which I have actively served long before I could even register to vote, and with the compliant and complicit state Democratic Parties. I suspect if Hillary is the nominee, the political affiliation of "independent" will be become even larger as the largest political affiliation and the Republicans will be a bigger Party than the un-Democratic Party.
This breaks my heart, but too few seem to remember that so many issues that is their motivation for voting for Hillary --abortion, women's right, LBGTQ rights [although she came late to this position], etc.,, ,but not the flip-flop ones or the ones she is adopting from Bernie for expediency--were not those of the Republican Party until the 80s when the Republicans went after the right-wing "Christians." However, most of Hillary's bedrock beliefs were those of the Republican Party back then.
The other problem is that most Democratic voters are not Republicans (we did pick up a lot when the Republican Party became the clown car--but most Democrats aren't). This is a real problem for the Democratic Party as it shape shifts into the Republican Party of pre-80s. The liberal mind, for example, can hold two conflicting thoughts at the same time. It is not easily controlled by fear. It is more logical and fact-based, etc.
We have seen first-hand, in part thanks to the Internet [which will become a tool of corporations once Hillary's TPP is in place] and social media, the suppression of Bernie voters, the restructuring rules to favor Hillary, etc. It is not that Hillary "wins" the nomination, it is how she and the DNC rigged the system to do so. It is their arrogance and that of their paid puppets in the media and their smug surrogates that we will be rioting against in Philly. It is because we ARE Democrats that we do not want to see our Party become a pale ghost of the Republican Party.
My heart goes out to the Republicans who have joined the Democratic Party because their Party went Looney Tunes, but please do not destroy our Party by remaking into your former one.
This is not 2008 when Obama dissolved and dismissed the grassroots once he used them to get elected. This is not about Bernie, Barbara Boxer! It is about the people, the common good.
So, no, we will not stay home in July. This country was birthed on civil disobedience and we will use civil disobedience to save it.
