Pride parade, festival brings family, friends together to celebrate Charleston diversity

The Rainbow Pride of West Virginia parade was led by a large rainbow banner. The parade went through Haddad Riverfront Park and ended at Capitol Street.

...“This is a really important issue to the coalition because (it is) connected with violence against women and other oppressions such as heterosexism and racism,” Thomas said. “I think a lot of folks in West Virginia think that the services aren’t there for them in a violent relationship, and (we want to) spread awareness to come and seek our services if you need help.”
