Mass. lawmakers plan series of gun bill hearings (60 bills!)

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts lawmakers are planning a series of public hearings across the state on proposed changes to the state’s gun laws.

The first hearing by the Public Safety Committee is scheduled for June 19 at Cape Cod Community College.

The committee is looking at more than 60 gun bills that touch on everything from mental health and school safety to background checks and hunting issues.

Gov. Deval Patrick has filed a gun control bill to restrict gun owners to one firearms purchase a month.

Gov. Deval Patrick {mass} has filed a gun control bill to restrict gun owners to one firearms purchase a month

One gun per month law, aka 12 guns per year law (with allowances if you want even MORE guns, you can get all you can eat simply by taking the time to get an exemption for the month).
And, tho I'm just perceiving it myself, evidently it pertains just to handguns:

wiki: A one-handgun a month law is a law which limits handgun purchases to one per 30-days, for an individual..Supporters argued that gun traffickers frequently purchase large numbers of cheap handguns from states which lack such laws in order to transport and sell them within states with such laws.
{Guess what opposition argues? oh dear, my 2nd amendment sacred cow-{sh**}}
The first law of such nature was passed in 1975 in the state of South Carolina (since repealed). Virginia enacted similar legislation in 1993 (repealed 2012). At the time, it was claimed that 40% of the guns used in crime in New York City were reported to have been traced back to the state of Virginia.
As of 2012, three states have one-handgun a month laws, California, Maryland, and New Jersey

PS: those 3 states Md, Calif, NJ, have about 52 million peeps, or about 17% of national population while comprising 6% of the 50 states. If massachusetts enacts one gun law bump up to 59 million & 20% of national census, & 8% the states.

In some countries, a one gun/month law 'infringing' on any alleged right, could rather BE the right if it simply allowed one gun per lifetime.

Avg age expectancy in US about 70 yrs; 52yrs (over age 18) x 12 = ~450 guns (at least) would be allowed for americans to own during their lifetime under one gun/month guarantee.
And the nra argues that 450 guns per lifetime, is an INFRINGEMENT?
