Sorry, I'm so used to browsing DU on PC, I forgot you might be on mobile. If you're on a PC/laptop, you should have a Home key, but most mobile keyboards generally don't.

EarlG has a couple of options covered below.

in the area of Delete and End.

On some keyboards (especially smaller ones), it's either combined with another key or can be accessed with a keyboard shortcut, often FN + Left Arrow.

there's a little "Top" button at the bottom left of every reply -- hitting one of those will take you back to the top.

If you're on mobile, touching the top of the screen should take you back to the top of the page (that's not a DU thing, it's a common mobile browser thing).

I have to scroll. Is there a phone setting I may be missing?

I looked into this and it seems that iPhones are the only device that includes the touch-to-go-top functionality by default in broswers.

You may be able to achieve a similar effect by creating a custom gesture, but I’m not sure.

This is something that we won’t be able to solve immediately but we are looking at some adjustments to the buttons on replies, so we might be able to include the “top” buttons that show on desktop.
