I posted a video to the video and multimedia forum, and it shows there, but not on the home page.

1. Looks like you posted a link to the page with the video.

Possibly that video plays only on their site.
I think you need to post the video itself, youtube type, to make homepage.

2. Ah! Great question and I know about this since it happens to me all the time

I tend to post a lot of video OPs (late night comedians) and, for me, it's just been the luck of the draw whether it shows up on The Latest Page. And it's very frustrating since if a video OP doesn't show up on Latest, it's more likely to be overlooked - or duplicated.

I did see a long ago question in Ask the Administrators about this and the answer was that it's "a glitch." It's aggravated me enough to ask again myself, but have yet to hear back - but you're more than welcome to ask as well. Thanks for bringing this up!

3. Okay, I just looked at your OP and the previous poster is right

The videos I referred to are YouTube videos but the one you posted is only available as part of the article, it can't be posted alone from what I know. And only YouTube videos appear on Latest, from what I've seen, but this was a delightful video, nonetheless. Thanks so much for your whale posts!
