For example, if you want to start a thread in the DU Lounge forum, click the forum on the left side of the screen (under Main), then when the forum pops up, click the big blue Start a Discussion button.

You don't need to post to serve on a jury, however.

Make sure to put TWO stamps on the envelope. For some reason it doesn't get there if you don't.

Enclose a check for $11.

When Shirley gets the mail, she'll sort it into topics and then she'll post it in the right place. She's usually pretty quick. Unless the grandchildren are over or Arthur is having trouble with his gallbladder.

As far as the jury, did you do something wrong? I don't know about that one. You're on your own.

A jury request is because a post got alerted on. You get to decide if the post reported violated Democratic Underground Terms of Service.
If the majority jurors on that post rule it violated the TOS the post gets. If not the post stays.

5. No, no. First you must serve on a jury. Then you can post.

So, go down to your county courthouse and knock on the door that says "Jury Entrance". Once inside tell them you are with Democratic Underground and you need to serve on a jury so you can post. Once you get out of jail go back home and you should be able to login and post.
Your welcome.
