Resurrecting archived threads?

On a recent discussion, I posted a link for a Lounge thread from July 2016.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/1018882218

Now there are two additions to that thread but, of course, one cannot view it if one just looks at current posts on the Lounge.

Yet, this thread is listed among the "Latest Threads."

I know. Which is why I am surprised to see it posted on the "Latest Threads" question everything Nov 2018 #2
Well, you'll remember from DU.2 "the thread that will never die." Rhiannon12866 Nov 2018 #3

That's as far as it goes. Sometimes people find and reply to DU threads through Google Search - for a particular topic - but threads that are archived aren't kicked back to the top.

Currently, on the Lounge, threads older than Sept 2018 are in the archives. And here we are talking July 2016!

Just curios.

If a thread is kicked often and long enough it'll never sink past page 30.

Milestone posts get bumped up to the top of the "Latest Threads" list.
