Can I please request that...

less swearing and more objective, critical items be posted? I am not trying to be a prude, but can we act and post more civilly?

How are we better when numerous post titles state "fuck so-and-so" or "shithead" and etc? We are all under a lot of frustration and disgust with Rublicans and their agenda, but please I beg...that we remain calm and sound headed during this troubling time. And I believe we are going to have to reach into the bottom of our bags for our sanity and patience in the next coming weeks.

2. It's a message board. People express themselves in a lot of different ways.

You can always hide posts you find offensive.

Maybe it would be more mellow here if people watched their language, but as I said, we all have different ways of expressing ourselves, and in stressful times like these, many will use rough language to blow off steam. Your demand to be spared offense will not prevent people from stating their opinions in colorful terms, and that's why the hide thread feature exists.

Haven't participated in this forum, but it's a valid request for the entire board, imo.

my ability to remain alive rests on what those assholes do.

Why the hell should I remain patient with people who want to hurt others?

The NSFW warning would be useful, but some days it's also unsafe to even leave DU open on your browser if you have nosy kids who inevitably find those "bad" words all over the place and then announce it to everyone.

squatting in the White House. I think the provocation is quite sufficient to provoke foul language.

I suggest you use ignore.

I view the use of expletives as impairments to our vocabulary and expression. I realize that there are occasions when words fail and frustration overcomes expression but I try to move that line as far as possible from everyday use as I can.

Welcome to DU.

I think many of them are simply lacking in vocabulary skills.

as RW deplorables, which is one reason Dump has never had my respect. Of course, no one on the DU has ever been disrespectful to women, minorities, and disabled persons, nor been discriminating against poor and uneducated.

Just saying we need to keep calm and project a high road mentality!!! They are in error! We are right and I have to believe our democracy system still works.
