are there limits on how much of an article you can quote?

do they vary according to the source?
I post on other boards and they generally keeps us to 3 or 4 paragraphs yet I keep seeing people quote entire articles here, isn't copyright an issue here?

thank you

1. It is an issue here, and many members tend to abuse it.

3-4 paragraphs of a long article is the standard used at DU.
Obviously smaller articles need smaller quotes.

When you see a copyright problem, private message the poster or copyright alert the message.
