Thousands of women recount the first time they were perved on by a grown man

This is the reality. Thank you again, David Futrelle

In creepy Reddit megathread, thousands of women recount the first time they were perved on by a grown man

So there’s a giant, growing, and extremely creepy megathread up on Reddit at the moment, and for once, the creepiness isn’t coming from inside the Reddit. Well, less of the creepiness is coming from Reddit than you might expect.

Yesterday, you see, a Redditor known as BA_Baracus posted a couple of simple questions to AskReddit: Women of Reddit, when did you first notice that men were looking at you in a sexual way? How old were you and how did it make you feel?

This wasn’t the first time he’d posted a question to his fellow Redditors; he’s posted a bunch, including “People of reddit with eyes that point in different directions, which one of them is usually looking at me?” and, er, “Recent rape victims of Reddit, how did it happen, and what the hell were you doing in India?” None of these questions got much of a response.

But this time, well, thousands of “women of Reddit” stepped forward to tell the horrifying yet in most cases completely unsurprising stories of the first time men started perving on them, in many cases before they were even teenagers.

Here’s a sampling of some of their stories. TRIGGER WARNING for extreme fucking creepiness.

but have already physically developed.

It is still revolting to the young girls, but the men assume they're drooling over teenagers, so that makes it okay, they think.

It doesn't.

there was a man...around 80 if I had to guess...he used to walk around my block every day - we called him the Peanut Man - not sure why.....he would sit on the log in our driveway and talk to me.....one day he put his hand in my panties....I ran and told my dad....

I never saw him again...

I've always wondered what my dad did....yell at him...call the cops...I dunno....

... just how many of these "little" incidents, perpetrated by people who can't control, or who don't bother controlling, themselves end up affecting people's lives FOR YEARS. Maybe even decades.

Part of me feels pity for these sick sick people, even though I can think of two incidents in my own life without even trying. One really seriously and physically pedophilic, one potentially so. (Only the potential one was reported to the police; for the one [well, there were repeats] that actually happened, I was too young at the time to understand--the family friend was a doctor so I thought it was something to keep us healthy, but believe me when I say it was gross and sad.)

I wonder if there are any more that I repressed or was too young to understand. Probably not, but girls (and really anyone who was ever a child) do have to wonder.

So, yeah, part of me feels pity for them, but part of me just wonders why the hell they thought their pathetic urges were more important than the psyches of the little children they were preying on. I mean, they can't help their urges but they certainly made a choice to act on them.

I'm only just now realizing--after reading that Reddit thread--how awesome she was to not just say that this kind of shit happens and to be careful blah blah blah. But then, she's always been awesome.

indicate is when they thought they could get away with it, they did what they wanted
to do. When other people, especially older people were around, they backed off as
quickly as cockroaches run and hide when you turn a light on in a dark room.

This sort of thing makes me glad I'm old. I don't remember the first time this sort of
thing happened to me, but I had my share, I can tell you.

why BA_Baracus is asking so many questions about rape. I suspect he is getting off on these answers.

I read the article, and the comments, and I didn't think it was possible to dislike men any more than I already did. But I was wrong.

I'm so happy to be old & invisible.

That this sort of thing is genetic, that some people are 'born this way', and that the scientific community needs come together in a 'Manhattan Project' type of scenario ... in order to identify 'the gene' responsible for it.

Once we do so, we can put the existing persons with the faulty gene into ... let's call it 'seclusion' ... and then order mandatory termination of all pregnancies of people with fetuses exhibiting this particular disorder moving forward.

That's a fairly obvious and simple solution AFAIC ... likely would largely take care of this particular scourge within 40 years, no problem.

When an elderly perv grabbed my hand. Fortunately, I knew his behavior was wrong so I wrestled away from him. He fled when he realized I wasn't alone.

But I think the most blatant pervy incident was when some 40-something scumbag made a pass at me in front of my mother. She told him to get the fuck away from me because I was only 12 and he said that only made him hornier.
I had to physically hit him to get him away from me. That was in broad daylight in front of at least 20 people.

Of course, now that I'm grown, I can look back on that incident as just one in a gazillion.
