“I wish you to be successful because this success is needed to the United States, of course, but to Europe and the rest of the world, too. Gov Romney, get your success – be successful,” Walesa told Romney, according to a translator.

He thinks the holy spirit of Zombie Reagan inhabits the mortal shell of Willard.

It's a Catholic belief in mortal possession taken to a political extreme.

I had two co-workers in the mid-2000s who were recent immigrants from Poland and they shared with me that Walesa had become a disappointment to the Polish people as it became apparent that he loved the spotlight and adoration he had received from the shipyard movement but had gotten used to the good life it accorded him. He basically betrayed the movement. The fact that his former union came out in solidarity with American workers and distanced itself from Walesa's comments attests to that.

Ex-President Lech Walesa, former leader of the Solidarity labor movement that helped end Communist rule, has never forgiven Obama for perceived snubs, including the U.S. president's refusal last year to receive him privately during a presidential visit to Poland.

Walesa effectively endorsed Romney when they met Monday in Gdansk, where the Solidarity movement was born in 1980. The current leaders of the movement, however, distanced themselves from the Romney visit, citing the candidate's "attacks against trade unions and labor rights."

Walesa is a has-been who craves the limelight (see reply #6 upthread).
