Michele Bachmann Wants You to Panic

In the annals of hyperbole, few candidates stand out like Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. She's figured out that the formula for raising big bucks involves breathless pleas for immediate cash, lest the evil liberals knock her out of office.

At least that's the sense one gets from reading her emails. "I need you to read this," reads a fundraising plea from last week. In June, her email list got an "URGENT note from Michele." Today, campaign manager Chase Kroll has an even more startling revelation: "Moments ago, I got off the phone with a campaign insider who I trust very much. Frankly he is an expert in campaign finances and analyzing how the Democrats plan to spend their money," Kroll wrote. "He just informed me about Michele's opponent and the Democrats' plan to pour additional millions into Minnesota for just one purpose -- defeating Michele Bachmann."

Bachmann has repeatedly warned her email list about businessman Jim Graves, her opponent this year. Graves has the ability to fund much of his own campaign -- he's already given himself $250,000, according to his most recent FEC report -- and that's cause for huge alarm in Bachmann's campaign.
