http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/253171-clinton-lands-third-union-endorsementHillary Clinton scored another union endorsement Wednesday as she seeks to ward off a challenge from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is also aggressively courting labor groups.
The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC), a group with about 80,000 members, said in a statement that no presidential candidate is better qualified than Hillary Clinton to occupy the White House.
There is only one candidate Hillary Clinton who can lead American workers to triumph in the face of todays hostile political climate, difficult financial times, and relentless attacks against the right to organize, the group said.
Its the third union endorsement for Clinton, who has previously received backing from two other powerful groups: the American Federation of Teachers and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

(1,169 posts)I'll leave it to the experts. Just like I trust climate scientists on climate change and not a Senator on the floor throwing snowballs.

(42 posts)which means American job losses...
Unions should be endorsing Sanders, and the rank and file will be ignoring the leadership endorsements as they aren't really for the rank and file.
(Whoops, was meant to be reply to post #7.. obvious newbie mistake)

(11,366 posts)I just know that no union member I know will vote for the woman who, along with her husband, supported NAFTA and laid the groundwork for the TPP.
Edited to add: And I know A LOT of union members. They live in my area. As a matter of fact, most of the city's union halls are within 3 miles of my house. I live in a very Democratic side of town.

(11,366 posts)I grew up in the same neighborhood I live in now, so I've known many union families throughout my life.
I also used to be a member of a union when I was reporting, so there's that, too.
If you want an absolute, I'd have to sit and think about it, but let's just put it this way: the only presidential yard signs and bumper stickers I've seen in my neighborhood (which used to be a small town of its own before it was annexed, so it's quite large) are Bernie. Even the Sheet Metal Workers Local 5 has a Bernie sign in their yard already (I pass them every day taking my son to school). I've honestly NOT seen any other stickers or yard signs for any other candidate in my area. I have seen one Trump and one Cruz sticker, each, as I drive to my job on the other side of town which is far more conservative.
