The IRS is the only source of official filings. There's no danger of "false" tax returns.

The only way to tell for sure is if he simply authorizes the IRS to directly release them.

Only the long form vault copies will be acceptable! Hopefully notorized and signed in blood also.

It also depends of "when" he "would" release them.
What if, in a last minute desperation move, he releases them on, let's say, November 5?
(Nobody would really have enough time to analyse them.)
