"SNIP.........................................
(CNN) Former presidential candidate Michele Bachmann did not deny Monday whether she was being vetted for the job of Mitt Romney's running mate.
"Whoever it is that he chooses to bring in as his V.P., it will be a highly competent person who could step in at a moment's notice and assume the responsibilities of the White House," the Minnesota congresswoman said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."
Pressed further if she was being considered for the gig, Bachmann, whose name has not been frequently mentioned as a potential contender, left it up to the presumptive GOP nominee and his team to make a comment.
"Well, that's something for the campaign to answer on," she said. "That's not for me to make that decision, and that announcement."

(10 posts)Not a chance in hell Romney will go with Bachman. She is an intelligent and popular woman within the conservative party, but she is too polarizing a figure and brings nothing substantial to the table.
I suspect Romney will go with Rubio. He will possibly deliver Florida, which is a pivotal swing state, extremely popular within the Republican party and will being in an X percentage of the Hispanic vote, which will also be very important for this upcoming election.

(308 posts)Bachmann would be Sarah Palin all over again. Apart from the fact that it's unlikely another woman will be chosen, Bachmann is not someone Americans can envisage taking over as President. She is not qualified, she's unstable, she has a history of bizarre remarks, she's not liked by Independents, and she's not even that popular with Republicans (she finished 5th in Iowa!) There's also the fact that her husband is an anti-gay closet case into gay reparative therapy. She would be a DISASTER.
And I don't get why Rubio's name keeps coming up.
1. He won't help Romney much with the Latino vote.
2. He won't even guarantee him a victory in Florida.
3. He's too young.
4. He's too inexperienced. (Only 1.5 years in the Senate).
5. Knows virtually nothing about foreign policy and could not compete with Joe Biden.
6. Would overshadow Mitt Romney.
7. Has been caught lying by the Florida press about when his family came to America from Cuba.
8. Used to be a Mormon for a while before becoming Catholic (no crime against that, but would look to some voters as if the Mormons were taking over).
