(755 posts)opponents. Rubio has the youth argument, Paul has the Libertarian crowd and the vast majority of young people in NYC, LA. Kasich can make inroads in the South and Midwest. Clinton will win, but it will be a good and classic run. Hillary Clinton needs to pick Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine as her running mate. He can bring Va. to the ticket.

(99,719 posts)I think Walker would be easy to beat. He's flat and does nothing to mitigate GOP losses among minorities.

(4,450 posts)but we discount him at our own peril. He is a master at the politics of personal resentment.

(755 posts)He runs on racial resentment. Period. That's how he won in 2010, 2012, and 2014. He can whip up anger in Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa.

(81,589 posts)Assuming her ultimate opponent would be jeb bush, that would steal his "and I can speak Spanish, too!" thunder and blunt his appeal. AND allow her ticket to make even more political history - with a Latino Vice President.

(99,719 posts)I should add that Dr. Lee Miringoff is one of the officers of the National Council Of Public Polls:
so he is qualified to conduct a poll.
Just saying...

I'd love to see the "explanations."

(31,849 posts)I didn't know what he looked like ... apparently, neither did the jury.
I wonder how many executioners want their vote back?

(11,573 posts)I'm gratified but not surprised that Hillary is ahead of them all. But I just love how badly she takes down The Donald.

(34,648 posts)They better watch their feet cause she just broke the glass ceiling. I am thinking we will have our first female president or first Jewish president. Democrats are making History. Constantly. This is our time to shine. No matter who wins our primary, we will win.
(I see they locked my boy outta this thread. So mean! It was a dumb hide, as usual)

(5,955 posts)along party lines, and vote along party loyalties, so that you'd get a roughly 45%/45% split even if one of the two parties was running a TURNIP for President. (So, I take it as a comfort that the turnip would do marginally better than Fiorina, Carson, and Trump. )
TrollBuster9090
(5,955 posts)the traditional sense. Nobody's talking about it very much, but the Clinton campaign appears to be setting up a strategy of low expectations for her. Let the Faux Fox News scandals be thrown at her over and over again, without her making any attempt to deny them (except through the occasional surrogate, like Carville), and watch her numbers go down. Then have her suddenly appear, and start talking just as the primaries start. Then, if she gets the nomination, use the same strategy for the election. Keep a low profile until about three weeks before the actual vote, come out swinging, and exceed everybody's low expectations. (Heck, it worked for GW Bush.)
As for the rest of the poll...I'm totally shocked that Marco "Little Ricky" Rubio is doing that well at the moment. I can only assume it's because nobody has yet taken a close look at what an empty suit he is.
Senator Marco Rubio (Center). (Not Exactly as Shown)

(13,340 posts)That all those Bernie fans will NOT be posting this poll about 50 times.
This confirm the bad Quinnipiac sample I think. The sample in this one looks a LOT more like the expected electorate, and lo and behold, the other poll was a outlier.

(24,689 posts)That's about as good as one can expect given the circumstances. The RW media and all the GOP candidates and the LOLs (Left of Left) are all simultaneously bashing her.

(24,689 posts)Those in-the-know realize its pretty much a forgone conclusion who the Dem nominee is going to be. I guess they see it as a waste of effort to poll anyone besides Hillary on the Dem side.
