(86,009 posts)...show his supporters how adept he is in speaking for the Vermont gun club and talking down to 'urban' Americans waiting for his gun club buddies to vote for the gun control measures he claims to support and more?
Or is he triangulating on that issue, keeping it on the downlow when he speaks? Maybe he can talk down to us again and tell us not to 'yell at each other and argue at each other.'
Btw, I've seen him 'yelling' and 'shouting' over things he believes in.

(50,254 posts)We're all against the gun violence just as much as you are. And Bernie is putting his issues with AA voters to rest with every speech he makes now.

(57,936 posts)humans have done since we were on this earth: hunt wild animals.
My mother used to have three deer at a time in her yard in the Midwest. It's OK to hunt deer when they are reproducing that quickly. I happen to like venison.
I agree with Bernie on gun issues. Guns are out of place and should be subject to permits in cities.

(86,009 posts)...I don't like the way he talks down to gun control advocates.
And, I especially don't like the way his supporters assume everyone should just fall in place behind his views on guns, sit down and shut up no matter what they believe, just because he's Bernie.

(50,254 posts)(Something I hope you'll admit his performance in the last week has finally put to rest, but doubt that you will).
You can support or oppose whoever you like, but it looks like you're just always bound and determined to find some issue to say Bernie's not good enough about. No matter what.

...all in defense of a politician.
...leave the questioning of motives out of your efforts here. Do you really believe people here are going to agree with EVERYTHING Sanders advocates? Is there ANY room for dissent over his policies and politics? Isn't there enough of an army of supporters here to satiate you, or does EVERYONE here have to fall in place behind every spittle that falls from your politician's lips?
cyberswede
(26,117 posts)But I wouldn't characterize what any of our primary candidates say as "spittle."
bigtree
(86,009 posts)...it's just an expression, meaning, regarding anything that comes out of the politician's mouth as sacrosanct.

(26,117 posts)primary season is always a bumpy ride here.

(50,254 posts)And no, you don't have to worship the guy(I don't myself).
And of course there's room for dissent-what I've objected to was was unfair attack(there was never any real reason to think Bernie didn't care about anti-oppression issues) and what has looked, at times, as if it were a concerted effort to outright force the guy out of the race before anybody even gets to vote.
And with you, it always looks as though you are just looking for something, anything to go after Bernie about. I don't see you holding HRC or O'Malley or anybody else to the same standards.
bigtree
(86,009 posts)...not to mention the dozens of positive Sanders threads I've posted.
You're way off-base.

(27,310 posts)"I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations and I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake."
His comments come in the wake of the shootings last month in Newtown, Conn. The killing of 20 children in the town has spurred gun-control advocates to seek restriction on the ownership of certain firearms such as military-style assault rifles.
"Part of being able to move this forward is understanding the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the realities of guns in rural areas. And if you grew up and your dad gave you a hunting rifle when you were ten, and you went out and spent the day with him and your uncles, and that became part of your family's traditions, you can see why you'd be pretty protective of that.
"So it's trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months. And that means that advocates of gun control have to do a little more listening than they do sometimes."

(57,397 posts)Bernie has a strong message for all of us.
In a state that is 33% black, can anybody make out one black face in that large and enthusiastic crowd?
