Thoughts?

(75,480 posts)The real question is why didn't Hillary attend? Maybe she didn't feel like hanging out with with common people.
Fearless
(18,421 posts)It is worrisome to me that her events seem very scripted whereas the common person can come see Bernie. She did this last time. If she wants to win, she needs to actually be with regular people occasionally.

(89,283 posts)environment. Obama got a protestor also .
and she was attacked over her use of "all lives matter" on twitter and other places.

(23,664 posts)She hasn't been back since.
Whether that means she would have been attacked this time, I have no clue.
On edit it wasn't the BLM group that made her feel so icky in 2007 but apparently the NRN folks hurt her feewings.

(75,480 posts)It seems though that she has decided that these people aren't important to her if she became President.
Capt. Obvious
(9,002 posts)She got hounded off the stage because she declined to state she'd bring the troops home.

(27,820 posts)... why you keep asking the same question in various threads over, and over, and over again, despite have been given the answer over, and over, and over again.
Cleita
(75,480 posts)I don't. I think you need to rest a bit.

(60,536 posts)and I think not, solely because of this article, which seems to cast her in a good light:
This Is What the #BlackLivesMatter Founders Want You to Know on the Movement's Anniversary
5. Clinton uses her platform
In a surprise move late last year, current presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton became the most high-profile American politician to say "Black lives matter." In April, shortly after she announced her campaign for the presidency, Clinton said the nation needed to face "hard truths about race and justice," specifically police reform, the disproportionate practice of killing unarmed black people at the hands of police and mass incarceration.
"Without the mass incarceration that we currently practice, millions fewer people would be in poverty," she said, according to ThinkProgress. "You cannot talk about smart policing and reforming our justice system without talking about what's needed to improve economic opportunity, better educational chances for young people, more support to families so they can do the best jobs they are capable of doing to help support their own children."

(45,851 posts)You jack up criminality, cops and prisons and then act all surprised that the result is authoritarian abuse and mass incarceration?
Authoritarian abuse and mass incarceration was what was being sold, anyone with the slightest bit of street smarts knew and knows it, the dog whistles were loud and clear.
DonViejo
(60,536 posts)I haven't jacked up criminality, cops and prisons and haven't acted surprised the result is authoritarian abuse and mass incarceration. A question was asked, I gave my opinion that it seems Sec'y Clinton would not have been confronted the way Sen Sanders and/or Gov O'Malley were, based on praise she was receiving from Black Lives Matter, excerpted in my original comment, above.

(22,336 posts)I think they probably just wanted to protest to Democrats because they thought they had a good chance at getting an audience with Democrats. I don't think it was an attack on any specific Democratic candidate.
sufrommich
(22,871 posts)Why would you think they wouldn't? They weren't there to target specific candidates.

(53,112 posts)I should have read the thread because I said the exact same thing as you.
BainsBane
(53,112 posts)Why wouldn't they have? They weren't there to focus on Sanders in particular but the candidates running for president.

(22,772 posts)This is about a civil rights movement to save lives. When one of the largest, most loyal Democratic voting blocs demands you to listen - you LISTEN and validate their concerns. Had Hillary been there, she would have been heckled too. I have no doubt.
