How many of you are willing to say that the right candidate has not come along yet?

I am just not that into any of the current announced candidates for president. I don't have big complaint about anybody in particular, I just don't feel like anyone out there represents my issues or concerns. Or our country's for that matter.

I'd like to hear from you all if you agree and who you might like to see run and why. I don't have the answers yet.

I guess what I'm looking for is passion and conviction on even one issue, but the ideal person needs that passion and conviction on the following:

Making strong bold moves to address the inequity in this country regarding jobs, housing, policing and general welfare of people of color including making sure that blacks and latinos are in positions of power in their cabinet and appointed positions.

Big changes in our policing and prison system to see that people who are an actual threat to society are punished not tortured and that sentences are fair and allow opportunities for rehabilitation.

Guns! Someone needs to talk about controlling guns, ammunition, manufacturers and the people who can have and carry them.

I'm not expecting everyone to agree. But if you are undecided, what are you looking for?

I think the candidate that I support is the best

candidate this country has seen in decades.

2. Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is talking about gun control and fighting the NRA.

In her standard stump speech, Hillary Rodham Clinton talks about fighting income inequality, celebrating court rulings on gay marriage and health care, and, since the Emanuel AME Church massacre, toughening the nation’s gun laws.

That last component marks an important evolution in presidential politics. For at least the past several decades, Democrats seeking national office have often been timid on the issue of guns for fear of alienating firearms owners. In 2008, after Barack Obama took heat for his gaffe about people who “cling to guns or religion,” he rarely mentioned guns again — neither that year nor in his 2012 reelection campaign.

But in a sign that the political environment on guns has shifted in the wake of recent mass shootings — and of Clinton’s determination to stake out liberal ground in her primary race against insurgent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — Clinton is not only initiating a debate about gun control but also vowing to fight the National Rifle Association.

5. I'm getting most of what I was looking for.

I will say that I was open to ANY non-neo-liberal who would join the race. I just wanted SOMEBODY to challenge HRC from the non-neo-liberal left. I would have supported anyone who would do so.

I was relieved, and then over-joyed, when Bernie did. I think he was waiting to see if anyone else would, and I don't think he would have stepped into the ring if they had.

That said, he may be the best opportunity to take the neo-liberals OUT of party power we could have gotten, and for that, I'm solidly behind him.

I, too, have some defining issues.

Economic justice can't happen without challenging, and taking down, neo-liberal policy, so it's at the top of my list.

Social justice is as well, of course. While Sanders hasn't (yet) separated that out from economic justice, his record tells me that he'll support social justice issues.

Getting big money out of elections and politics is key, and he's leading the pack in that area.

As a teacher, support for public education and my profession is non-negotiable. He's got the best record and positions.

So I'm getting much of what I'm looking for.

11. I'd like to see Martin O'Malley get more attention in the media.

He's running but you wouldn't know it by the media, most of the time.

I'm not sure he's my candidate but he has refreshing contrasts to Hillary and Bernie. I think Webb is too far right for me, but I would also like to hear more about him in the media.

My perfect candidate would probably be the proper mix of Bernie and O'Malley. "Proper" of course meaning I get to pick the attributes of each that I want in my candidate. For good measure then I'd make her an attractive but professional-looking African-American woman. THAT would be my candidate!

13. I'm not always happy with Bernie's campaign

but I like pretty much everything about him other than that. And, while I think he could handle race better in his campaign, I think he's certainly as good on that issue as the other candidates. He doesn't have as smooth a campaign as Clinton but he isn't spending as much, and she's certainly made her missteps in the past. His voting record is solid anyway.

I wish he'd talk more about abortion rights too. Clinton is golden on that.

But I'm the daughter of former union members, and I live in an industrial town that was hit hard by NAFTA. That is very big for me. I want good paying jobs to come back for people. I want my city to be strong again. I want factories to move back here. I want strong unions again. I want the whole economic climate turned around. I just want anti-racism and reproductive rights to be way up there on his radar, and talked about frequently, too.

Candidate that has ran for one of the two main parties that genuinely excites me. I am 40.

I had flickers of flame with others but I've never felt The Bern like this!
