I suppose it's inevitable. But I didn't expect it to arrive *quite* so soon...

That "plague on ALL your houses" feeling that comes with primary season.

In which supporters of Candidate This become SO keen to win that they're obsessively skewing, fact-checking, spinning, and re-interpreting not only any and all information about Candidate This (to their candidate's maximum advantage,) but any and all information presented by supporters of Candidate That and Candidate TheOther in support of their own candidates, to those candidates' maximum disadvantage.

And pulling out every tedious rhetorical stop, *repeatedly,* to convince everyone that not only are the ranks of Their Candidate the EXCLUSIVE HABITAT of Enlightened Angels, but that the ranks of those other candidates are entirely composed of the evilly-intentioned, unenlightened, deluded shills, enemy operatives, etcetera.

It requires an increasing level of effort and commitment, not to mention an ever-stronger stomach and psyche, to review the ongoing discussions of all primary candidates.

And at some point, my resolution fails.

It hasn't failed yet, because I care, deeply, about the future my grandson lives in, and my role in shaping that future. Including being an informed, conscientious voter.

For what it's worth, I think that all of the candidates currently in the running for the Democratic nomination have strengths and weaknesses. I'd enjoy voting for some of them, more than others. But I understand the importance of my vote on November 8th, 2016, and it WILL be for the candidate in the "Democratic" column.

I very much hope that candidate, whoever they are, will be highly aware of my expectations as a Democratic voter, able to effectively emphasize their key strengths, call on the united determination of all Democrats, and WIN.

That is all.

wearily,

Bright

I have my preferred candidate, but, not too happy with some who share my preference. blm Jul 2015 #3
I'm still thinking. Maybe that makes me a little more sensitive to all the slang-offs. n/t TygrBright Jul 2015 #4

that every single candidate has drawn their share of bozo supporters, including your own preferred candidate? Or does that still fall under the 'pox on both houses' point?

and the disappointment is increasing by the day. You quickly become persona non grata with some group thinkers if you dare post appeals to common sense.
