Former Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman, Marcia Fudge, Endorses Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is the early favorite as the Democratic presidential candidate, and now she has the support of one of Ohio’s most outspoken Democratic voices.

Rep. Marcia Fudge, of Warrensville Heights, announced Wednesday that she is publicly endorsing Clinton’s campaign for president.

“We are at a point in our nation’s history when the right leadership is needed more than ever,” said a statement from Fudge. “Hillary has spent her life advocating for poor and working class families.

“Hillary will help build an economy for tomorrow and beyond; strengthen America’s families; defend our country and its core values; and revitalize our democracy. In other words, she gets it. Hillary understands the issues that matter to people in my district and around the country, like income equality, women’s rights and universal voter registration. Hillary is the best candidate for the job.”

The people who support Bernie sanders do not give a flying fuck what his ex wife has to say about him, what brand of beer he drinks, what inspiring stories he can tell us about his childhood or what endorsements he can garner.

That kind of matt-finish book cafe bullshit is for mediocre politicians who cant excite anyone with their political positions, so they have to resort to maudlin spun-shit stories about how they learned to love America at their mothers knee.

This is a peasants revolt, its not your usual dc elitist campaign. If you cant figure that out then you are lost.

candidate, Bernie is getting the grassroots, people oriented endorsements, just as expected.

Congressmembers are funded by Wall St so no one expects them to endorse the candidate who is trying to get that corrosive influence out of our politics.

Every Congressmember is going to endorse Hillary, so no surprise here.

they have been a huge disappointment on major issues. So as I said, no surprise. This is not who is going to get the People's Candidate elected, it was never expected to be. Sad about the Progressive Caucus but for quite some time now, they have lost a lot of credibility. It gets comfortable in that bubble in DC, and few are willing to give up all the perks that come with doing what the 'right thing' according to 'conventional wisdom'.

Bernie most like will not, and didn't expect, get a single endoresement from a single Democrat in Congress.

It's fine, he won't need it.

Clinton has the support of 30 Democratic senators already — including Sanders’ Vermont colleague, Patrick Leahy — in her latest White House bid, while her opponent has the backing of none. ..despite Sanders’ huge crowds and scores of small-dollar donations, his candidacy remains mostly an afterthought at his place of business. Twenty-one members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus — Congress’ leading caucus on liberal issues, in which Sanders is the lone senator — have endorsed Clinton, while none has endorsed Sanders. ...

employers, do not look kindly on the employees we entrusted to do the job we hired them to do, when they betray that trust, especially on some major issues.

Otoh, we are very appreciative of employees with a long record of trying to get done the things we hired him to do, and we take note of those who SHOULD have been joining in that effort, but who chose instead to please those who they view as their bosses, the ones who pay them the big money and promise them the jobs they want if we, the employers, throw them out of office.

first the House and now the Senate. Given that a legislative body must build consensus, how do you propose that Senator Sanders build consensus? If the current Congress lacks Bernie-ish tendencies, do you have the guns to sweep in a cooperative, me-too Congress in 2016?

Since you think it trite to achieve progress through BUILDING consensus, how many resets must America endure until that perfect legislative body meets your expectations?

out of politics so that our Reps are not more beholden to Corps than they are to the people, and then people like Bernie who has consistently been RIGHT on every issue and voted that way, will not have to rely on Corporate funded, beholden to Wall St, colleagues.

This is the single most important issue in this campaign, though a lot of people haven't grasped that yet, see your question eg.

Btw, on what issues do you disagree with Sanders on? Gay Marriage, he was FOR while most of our dems were afraid to vote for it, 20 years ago. The Iraq War, he was against it whle sadly too many of our Corporate funded Dems voted for it. The Patriot Act, again he voted against it, while most of our Corporate Funded Dems voted for it.

I could go on, but we are now at a point where the public is awakening to the problems facing good Democratic members of Congress who are foiled by their Corporate funded colleagues each time there is a chance for them to work for those who elected them.

And Bernie is slowly but surely gaining recognition with a record that is practically unparrelled in Congress today for working FOR the people, because he never had to worry about his Corporate bosses, he didn't take their money as most have.
