2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAnyone know anything about the details of the 1st Democratic primary debate?
There does not appear to be any details listed yet.
We know what the GOP is doing except for who will be included. The only thing that is known about the first Democratic debate is that there will be one in Iowa sometime in either August or September with the location, place, and time to be determined.
Isn't it time for the DNC to get this information out so Democrats have an idea of what is going on?

(14,449 posts)I predict September since we are two-weeks out to August. Just a guess though. Who knows but your OP is very valid.
think
(11,641 posts)September does seem more likely. It's just a little frustrating wondering what is going on.

(11,641 posts)limiting the debates is a factor of tacitly supporting her.
It's well known that Debbie Wasserman Schultz endorsed Hillary in the past and that a member of the DNC has been involved in fund raising for Hillary.

(6,283 posts)Do you think it will take 4-6 debates for Bernie to put together a coherent statement as to why he should be the next president of the United States, or will it take 10 or 15 debates to accomplish that? Whether it is one debate or a hundred debates, if Bernie can't hold his own, I think he may be in trouble. One more thing. What format do you think would give Hillary an advantage given that all candidates participating will have the opportunity to answer or rebut the answers to the same questions?

(34,825 posts)coherent statement? Sanders speaks very clearly and concisely on what he's proposing, and why.
I thought he was capable of doing well. Just wondering what the fuss is about the number of debates, and how a certain venue would would be an advantage to Clinton. the only thing that I can think of is that the moderator would throw softball questions at Clinton and hardballs at Sanders. I don't think they would be able to get away with that.

(17,796 posts)although if it dropped to October, I wouldn't be shocked.
Now, I would love to be wrong.
think
(11,641 posts)Bunching 3 in October really limits Democratic exposure while the GOP is plugging away with 1 or 2 each month.
I sure hope you're wrong as that would really suck if that turned out to be the scenario. Hopefully they'll add more debates in the later part of the primary.
Most debates are televised unlike most other political events. Hopefully the limited debate schedule does not hurt the Democrats chance to get their message out to the TV watching crowd.
This to me seems like an area of concern especially knowing the HUGE amount of money that is going to be dumped on this election.

(17,796 posts)especially because 6 would become 4 or 5, scheduling problems perhaps?
Purely my thoughts, and I would be overjoyed to be wrong.
