2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf I was a Hillary Clinton supporter, I'd be angry.
I'd be pissed.
There has been ample opportunity to attack from both sides, but she does nothing because she hasn't triangulated it enough.
Politics are at one end glacial in movement, but on the other hand burn like a match in gasoline.
You have to decide if you are the match or the deep, deep cold that will roll over you with history.

(62,325 posts)me nothing to get excited about. Eg, when asked 'what do you think of (fill in the blank) her standard response is often this: 'I will be unveiling my policies on this most important issue in a few weeks'.
Now why does someone opinion need to be 'unveiled' formally in a scripted release or memo? And 'in a few weeks'? Why doesn't a candidate asking for this job KNOW what they think on important issues well enough to be able to do what Bernie does, ANSWER the questions NOW? Surely if you have convictions you don't need to wait to formally 'unveil them' later?
This is why I am so happy to have a candidate I do not have to defend with anything other than his record when anyone attempts to distort it. It's all there, in his votes, never having to 'evolve' after years of being wrong, on important issues.
And some former Hillary supporters ARE going with Bernie because they care way more about issues than politics and they know he is the real deal.

(92,482 posts)Incidently, I don't get "pissed". It is just a forum, and I do not take things personally. In fact I refuse to serve on the jury here, because based on some jury comments they seem to inject their personal bias in their decision, and I personally don't want to be part of that game

(7,231 posts)there are two types of campaign, the one that comes with years of consistent messaging and bases itself off historic / demographic developments, and the ones that comes with sudden upsweeps in public opinion. The ones that are armed with broad public - but often tacid - agreement, and the ones that are lifted by loud and out waves of public support.
And your idea is that Mrs. Clinton hasn't been able to decide what kind of campaign she wants, trying to have a bit of both, but ending up with neither?
And your concern for the Clinton supporters is that they know that Mrs. Clinton hasn't been able to make that choice / act on it, and that they are now worried that their preferred candidate doesn't see the problem they see?
Is that what you mean?
Your observation about the campaign types is interesting enough. But maybe some context / practical examples would help to illustrate how all that connects to Mrs. Clinton. You are not very clear on that point.
Aerows

(22,271 posts)where you live? That sucks! She should have been more courteous. I smoked for 35 years and quit 11 years ago (with the patch) so I know EXACTLY what you're going through. I wasn't fit to live with for at least 6 months. When I used to get those overwhelming urges one of the things I would do is brisk exercise -- got me breathing deep and that little exercise rush.
Good luck, don't give in to the cigarettes and who cares how many people you have on ignore. I have over 100. Too many one-trick ponies on this board. Life is short and I don't suffer fools, well, at all, so getting them off my screen makes my time on DU life MUCH more enjoyable.

As to the point of pining for a Sanders/Clinton flame war, I don't see the point. The candidates are not engaging in that, and their official surrogates are not. Why not keep our powder dry until the other side settles on one or two of their candidates and then attack them?
If you want to attack Clinton (or Sanders), this probably isn't the site for you.
