(30,481 posts)Last week he made a very clear distinction. People carrying guns in Vermont are completely different than gangs. Not sure why this wasn't addressed more. I made an op on it. It is the way they fight for their love of guns.
"He said there's a major difference between Vermont, a rural state with little gun control where hunting is a way of life, and cities like Chicago, where guns are used by gangs."
He used it as a wedge between white and black. A failed thought process that is all too common.

(16,038 posts)Rural Dems usually don't favor gun control, and urban rethugs often do...it isn't a public safety issue in rural areas, it might be in urban areas

You might ask his opponent why her pro gun poses in 2008 were a mistake.

(17,064 posts)I think Sanders moderate position on gun-control is quite sensible, and more likely to effect measurable change than the extremist position some have staked out.

(2,493 posts)Because some criminal shot that individual with the gun maker's legally produced product.

(26,549 posts)Some gun control groups decided to try a campaign of SLAPP lawsuits, since cowardice among Democrats meant they were getting nowhere. They knew the individual lawsuits would fail - Colt isn't liable for a murder using their guns, just like Ford isn't liable for a drunk driver using their cars.
The bill blocked those lawsuits, so they'd be tossed at the beginning of the lawsuit instead of after victims had spent $BIGNUM on attorneys losing the lawsuit.
But it also meant the SLAPP campaign was not possible.
I think I misinterpreted your post - I agree with Sanders on this.

Seriously, how hard is it to just say Bernie is great but he's wrong about guns? It's getting absurd...

(16,038 posts)Idiots who think one should be able to sue the maker of any legal device or gadget for the criminal misuse of the item are just too thick to understad the absolute simplicity of what is being discussed...they are wrong every time they speak of this....
DanTex
(20,709 posts)But, of course, I expect that from you. The dissonant thing is hearing it from Bernie Sanders and his "progressive" supporters, who claim to be concerned about corporations having too much power in DC.
