He doesn't want to run as an independent because he knows that splitting the vote up is a bad thing.

They claimed that Bernie could not declare party affiliation in VT. Turns out that doesn't seem quite right.

after all LaRouche ran as a Democrat. I do think there should be some quality control as to candidates but Sanders certainly passes any reasonable quality control.

over "better than a Republican". Some people are getting sore noses from holding them so often.

but I will say that having some rules isn't a wholly bad idea.
