"SNIP.......................................................
A lot of people want to talk about how we create jobs, Romney said, campaigning in January. By the way it is not to walk away from free enterprise. It is not to say that there is something wrong with the free market system. No, it is to hold fast to that system and to make it work for the American people.
Romney's recent rebuttal carried even greater weight because the Republican challenger was able to point to high-profile Democrats who were balking at the president's line of attack.
When former Obama car czar Steve Rattner called the ad unfair and Newark Mayor Cory Booker dubbed the attack nauseating, Team Romney quickly pounced, circulating the comments to reporters and cutting web videos that prominently featured the off-message remarks.
That quickly put the Obama campaign on defense, and forced prominent Democrats from states like Connecticut, California, and New York, where donors from companies like Bain Capital wield a heavy influence, to choose sides on the issue. A Republican National Committee web video published Friday mocking the president for the worst week ever tallied 14 prominent Democrats expressing some skepticism about the Bain advertisements.

(118,865 posts)donations for his city. I hope that goes viral too. Shows you just what the right is doing with all the money they are making through inequality...coopting people. So that the $$$$$ interests have the power over which cities or people thrive.

(14,579 posts)I like Booker a lot, actually.
But, there is something between getting on the train pounding Bain and choosing to open his fricken mouth.
This is the shiite republicans NEVER do. They can be 100 percent wrong about something, and everyone stays in lockstep.
The Ds, this is ABSOLUTELY the right thing, it is the simple fricken TRUTH and a winner politically. But, being the soft headed twits they are, SOME have to open their pie holes, and even though 99 percent might agree, the Rs and the "liberal media" will point to them and say THERE IS DISSENSION!
IF he is beholding to them, then ...
JUST DON"T SAY ANYTHING.

(95,262 posts)This attack line is the proper one; the squeals of its target prove it.

Go after his record as Governor, and pound Bain, and they have nothing other than balling about it.

(8,225 posts)But the President is 10X the politician Newt or Icky Ricky ever hoped to be. Mitt has learned not to drop his guard becuse Newt and Icky Ricky were very good at one-off cheap shots. The President on the other hand is a story teller, and he has just opened the book and read the first page. There are many chapters to go and we won't even get to the best stuff until mid September. It is the way he plays.

(11,529 posts)I'd never heard of Cory Booker 'till he put his foot in his mouth defending Bain and the Vulture Capitalists. I have a feeling he's going to be less and less prominent from now on.
