RE: Perry and Newt warning Obama that attacks against Bain "don't work"

Is that just the most stupid, lame GOP talking point in the world??

HEY "LIBERAL MEDIA!" Is it possible that it "doesn't work" with GOP PRIMARY VOTERS? Guess what, ONLY CRAZY works on GOP primary voters, they are to the right of 90% of American voters and everybody knows it.

I love how none of the interviewers ever ask anything beyond the "didn't work" talking point like, OK it wasn't politically beneficial to you, but IS IT TRUE?

in a game which meant nothing to the Steelers ...

In fact, the schedule out for the 2012-13 season really sums up the idea that these two teams will sell out the "rivalry" game if the teams were 1-14 and 0-15 at the last game ...

the Steelers fans are no longer considering it a "rivalry" ... that the 'burghers are now "pitying" the Browns fans.

I can see it, but I also remember that, sprinkled amongst the many victories by the Stillers since the Browns came back, there have been a few times when the Browns won. Nothing is "guaranteed".

(I also remember the eulogies written about the Democrats in November 2002, and the Republicans in November 2006).

Perhaps Obama will send Newt his own video in case he forgot who he was against before Mittens bought his support:

Or Trump will tell Obama how to win an election. Or how to stay financially solvent.

On second thought, this is closer to the mark:

GOP primary voters might even view vulture capitalism as a positive thing and a sign of a candidate's free market credibility.

On the other hand, when Gingrich went on the Bain attack before South Carolina voted, he shot up in the polls and won.

It wasn't that your Bain attacks didn't work. It was that the primary voters found you to be so reprehensible, they didn't even notice your attacks. Just because he beat you doesn't mean his past doesn't matter.

They hate seeing themselves attacking Romney in democrat ads and there are plenty of attacks to be featured. Romney only won because everyone else was either selling a book, a religious candidate, unqualified and far out on issues.
They know Mitt can't relate to working class or average american, and Bain is the way to point it out. Even now most repugs wish for another candidate.

...because your average GOP primary voter believes that it doesn't matter how rich people make their money.

If you tell them Bain likes to walk into a company it's bought, fire everyone there on the spot and make them reapply for their old jobs at lower rates of pay, they'll automatically decide it's because the employees were overpaid.

They also believe the lie that all the companies Bain buys are struggling and Bain makes them better; in reality, the only reason Bain would want a struggling company is to scavenge its products before sending the carcass to bankruptcy court. No, Bain wants strong companies because only strong companies can afford the management fee payments Bain demands.

The Bain attacks DID work in the GOP primary, in South Carolina they brought Newt from being down double digits to winning by double digits in a week.

In Florida Romney drowned them out and responded with equally effective attacks on the fact that Newt is well, Newt.

this should mean that Obama's attacks on Romney's Bain years are doing twice the damage that they had hoped for.

After all, Perry and Gingrich were SO in tune with the country's mood, right?
