Americas' Basic Political Problem

Last edited Tue Mar 24, 2015, 10:25 AM - Edit history (2)

Is not the GOP, it's the MPC (the Media-Political Complex), and the inability of the 99% to understand how the Media Political Complex operates to keep them in bondage.

The Media Political Complex is a chimera. It's a collection of Mainstream Media, the sponsors that sustain and feed it, along with the consultants, fund raisers and sycophants that orchestrate the pablum that is fed to the public every day. The MPCs monopoly on public channels of information distribution makes it immune to any type of feedback and gives it the ability, in the words of the Bush Administration, to create its own reality.

Here is the vicious circle: money from political contributions buys political ads which gets politicians elected. Politicians must bow down to Gog lest they suffer the same fate as Howard Dean with his wooo! being amplified five times above its normal level. So those candidates don't get elected and the ones that do sustain the system for the MPC. The money flows in again and the pattern repeats itself.

Every politician knows it, but don't dare raise their head out out of the media swamp and complain about it, lest the alligators notice and devour the miscreant.

The first to recognize the MPC was ol' Tricky Dick Nixon, who made the mistake of thinking that the MPC was some sort of liberal plot to destroy the GOP, and rose against it. Nixon never realized it wasn't actually about politics at all but about the influence of the MPC on public discourse. What happened afterwards is history.

The solution not easy, because the MPC will continue its influence unchecked even if every person in the country throws their TV out the window today. That is, until the 99% understand where the problem really comes from.

What could destroy the MPC in one stoke

Howard Deans' Epiphany about the MPC and the DVRs ability to Fast Forward political ads was decisive in the 2008 Presidential election. He understood that in fact most political ads are fast forwarded and never viewed. Realizing as Chairman of the DNC that most of the money spent on ads was a waste, he decided that the campaign needed to be fought at the local level and reinforced the local parties at the grassroots level....and it worked
What is needed, along with the return of the Democratic Party at the local level? Another advancement in the DVR technology to skip through commercials altogether and seamlessly paste all content together so the viewer never has to hit the fast forward button. The DVR that you get from satellite and cable companies will never do that, but a DVR was on the market that did and I would suppose that this was suppressed by the Media, as it is a death sentence for the MPC.

There are Media Consultants within the Democratic Party that oppose the entire concept of NOT throwing away money on ads that are fast forwarded. In part because they are toll booth operators for the MPC and collect commissions from it for bringing in sales. It won't change until the MSM dies or until someone who is not on the take from the MPC can change it.

Product Placement is an indication that the MSM knows it's dead meat.

Product placement inside content has gone wild in the past year in part because of a realization on the part of the MSM that no one is watching commercials. The Big Bang Theory is a groundbreaker on this part because of the clever way product placement is put into dialog. It can be expected that we will arrive at a time when content will be saturated with product placement, the reason being that you might fast forward or skip an ad, but you can't skip content. That is, until you throw your TV out the window.
