Do you believe we should fight disinformation. if so, how do we best do that.

one place to engage the conservatives is discussionist. I know, it's disgusting. But if you think we should fight disinformation how should we do that?

I just thought it was worth putting this open to discussion.

Apparently it's much easier to stay in your comfort zone, not try to understand others, and expect that the world will just magically become as one someday.

I suggested going as group to a right wing blog site and try to engage the crowd there.

and family. Every time one of them gives false information regarding an important political issue, I correct them. I correct them with information, with web pages, with documents, economic facts, anything and everything which will shine the proper perspective on the issue. My goal is not to convert those who are hopelessly, purposefully, arrogantly ignorant. My goal is to keep those well intentioned from falling victim to false information. some friends and family don't like it, those are usually the ones who are being outed as liars and cons, I couldn't care less. Most are annoyed by it but they still see it and read it, and it has the effect intended. I have found that cartoons are especially effective, because they don't demand a great deal of a person's time, and get the point across quickly.
As long as some of my friends and family engage in disinformation, I will continue to rebut, correct, and out them for their deceitful bullshit! I see it as necessary, because a lie told over and over again, can sometimes begin to be thought of as the truth. One of my favorites, is when gun nuts use the saying that, "guns don't kill people, people kill people, and anyone who wants to kill someone will find a way", my response is always, if guns don't kill people, then why to we waste so much money equipping our soldiers with them?

who refuse to believe in facts or reality? Showing them the facts or the truth seem to not matter at all, they just plain want to believe the BS instead of the truth. Hard to win a war against peoples willful ignorance.
