2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBain/Rmoney were responsible for DOMINOES? No wonder it sucks so bad!
It's amazing the chain is still in business. What do they do, ship the pizza orders to India and China? And Staples...well, that's Easy...they SUCK also. Everyone else Bain/Rmoney put out of business in order to profit. I guess those other two zombie businesses just refused to die!

(2,307 posts)Of all of the companies Bain purchased are those there only to success stories? Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
If he is such a good business man shouldn't the opposite be true on two failures and many successes?

(31,464 posts)Shitty office supply outlet, shitty pizza joint, positioned in suburban areas where there is nothing else available. These are both horrible places, yet they are the ones Rmoney touts as his SUCCESSES! Ouch!

(31,849 posts)The other day, at my (AZ) daily rag's online comment section, one of the rwingers cited romney's success rate as 78%. When I asked for a citation for his claim, since Bain has been really reticent in posting its numbers. The rwinger posted a link to an article that indicated that after reviewing the 77 deals that Bain had publically acknowledged, it concluded that 78% were successful.
My response was: "If I got to bat 10 times, and get 3 hits; I, too, could bat .750 ... If I don't count the 6 times I struck out!"

(13,908 posts)Bain did not create businesses. It got investors to invest. It did not come up with the idea for Staples, for example, it did not execute the idea, it did not run the company. It invested in the company. If it had not been Bain, it would have been some other venture capital firm. This is the crux for the big Romney lie. Romney was not responsible for any of these companies. Period!
The entire reason d'être was to find EXISTING businesses which Bain could infiltrate, then strip them bare and walk away with CASH. In some cases, Bain/Rmoney FAILED, and the businesses actually survived, trimming off Bain's bottom line. They only did really well if they could strip every last dime out of the company and either shut it down or ship it overseas.
JOB CREATION...for India and China.

(31,464 posts)"Okay, if we just get rid of half the pizza dough, use plaster instead of real cheese, substitute "meat product" for hamburger, and use store-brand ketchup instead of tomato sauce, we can cut the cost by half, and still charge twice as much...and then give Bain execs HUGE bonuses!"

There are reasons good pizza cost a lot and bad pizza is cheap.
