Oh, c'mon, Cory Booker's "walk back" doesn't pass "smell test"!

So Booker (already a little iffy on his "progressive" cred) "walked back" his "nauseating" attack on the Obama campaign's Bain ads, nine hours after he was on Meet the Press.

Right on cue: first thing on Morning Joe is Joe characterizing the "walk back" retraction as a "hostage video" perpetrated by the Evil David Axlerod in Chicago.

This was the plan all along, AFAIC. Cory Booker has had the distinct odor of a closet repuke for a while now, when I apply the political "smell test" to his remarks. This just reinforces my suspicion that this was a set up all along.

The end game, of course, was to characterize Axlerod and the Obama campaign as a bunch of Chicago thugs.

On edit, here's the walk back video:

I'm really suspicious of this whole damn thing...

Either way it stinks on multiple levels. Never trusted Booker ever since he's been cozying up to Chris Christie.

3. I think he's given up on the Dem Party. His ambition is $$$$

and my guess is he's being a willing tool of the repukes in this.

I'll bide my time, but I'm fairly sure we'll read of his "conversion" to repukedom eventually and then we'll hear of his new, lucrative job (maybe at Faux)...

he should go on asap and explain this major fuck-up. However, I will NEVER trust a word this man ever says again. I am truly and completely disgusted that a Dem would go out and undermine one of our best cases against Romney. UGH!!!

I thought he had a promising future, I guess I should have looked a little deeper. The crazy thing is that I was thinking just the other day how the Dems were going to fuck this Bain thing up...it was going a little too good. Well, here you have it!

Rachel needs to address this asap!

Rachel Maddow is undoubtedly one of the smartest minds in politics. However, I find it so annoying how giggly and too accommodating she is with Republicans or with milquetoast Democrats who don't fight back. Now's NOT the time to be a giggling idiot. We need to fight and fight hard. She and Cory Booker are close. Indeed he needs to get on her show ASAP and explain what's going on here. His cozying up to Double C doesn't sit well with too manypeople. This is very sad for me because I really liked Cory. (He was even my imaginary husband.) But, I find it interesting that he would appear on MTP of all places, especially when David Gregory has been in the tank for the Republican Party.

Anyway, he needs to do much more than just say he's sorry. He needs to be out there on the campaign trail educating people about what Bain did!

I have found that rather annoying as well, but I still watch the show every night! I have to say that I get truly irritated with the shows that have on Michael Steele. I truly hate that guy...he pollutes every show he's on!

I have tremendous respect for my fellow political scientist. In most cases, she can do no wrong. But I'm not sure if pressure is coming from above to have more Republicans on or what. I just find it rather annoying when I hear her begging to have Republicans on, then complain when they don't come on. Now, I'm sure there's a good reason: she wants to have an honest discussion and confront these Republicans. However, I find her too accommodating at times.

As for Steele, as a black American voter in Maryland, many of us will NEVER forgive nor forget how Steele and then governor Bob Ehrlich paid for homeless folks from Philly to hand out flyers in black neighborhoods in Baltimore providing wrong information to black voters about election day. In addition, this is the same Mike Steele who made up a story about being pelted with oreo cookies at a speaking event. No one--not even the custodial staff--corroborated Steele's nonsense story, and yet he continues to push the story as if it were true. But the height of Steel evil was ignoring the blatant racism of the Tea Party. He was begged, not only by NAACP leadership and members of the black caucus, but also by many prominent black conservatives to call out the Tea Party on their racism. He refused to reign in the Republicans who were cheering on the Tea Party from the sidelines and denied that black members of congress were spat on or called the n-word.

The fact that Rachel is giggly and googly-eyed over what I think is a MONSTER really irritates me!

this guy is no different. Rachel is a nice person and that's one reason I like her, but the slimy Repukes often make me esp. that guy from the 'no labels' group, Mark Somethingorother.

Booker has willingly allowed himself to be part of a set up. It's just too pat, first the MTP rant, then the "walk back", then the chance for Scar to get in a dig at Obama's Chicago campaign operation. I wouldn't be too surprised if this isn't the end of this story...the repukes think they've got something on the Obama people now...they won't give this up so fast...right out of Karl Rove's playbook...
