Is this really where we are?

Republicans have smeared a man held captive for 5 years without knowing any of the facts.
So... Instead of leave no soldier behind. It's fuck off and die if a republican determines you are not worthy.

Words fail me...

As you know fuck off and die is also their response to the unemployed, those without health insurance and those needing food stamps. Why would it be any different in this case?

I don't know why I am so shocked with the reaction of the right.

Hopefully their public demonstration of how they really feel about the military will strike a nerve. Probably not, one can hope.

When this media firestorm over the Bergdahl release started to erupt, the first thing I thought of was Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier whose release involved another prisoner release. My memory could be playing tricks on me, but I don't recall GOP senators piling on the Israelis over that.

The elaborate machinery of a prisoner swap deal between two bitter enemies swung into motion early on Tuesday, as hundreds of Palestinians and one Israeli soldier prepared to return home in one of the most dramatic recent developments in the otherwise deadlocked Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Before dawn on Tuesday the first 96 inmates were moved from a prison in the south to another in the West Bank, where they were later to be released, a spokesman for Israel's prisons service said.

The Israel-Hamas deal, to take place on Tuesday morning, is going ahead despite criticism and court appeals in Israel against the release of 1,027 Palestinians for a single captured armoured corps sergeant, Gilad Shalit, held by militants in Gaza since 2006.

In Feb of this year, he was in favor of the exchange.

And he himself was released through a prisoner exchange with the Viet Cong (through negotiations with the enemy).

I'm sorry, I respect the man for his service, but at this point he is just being a dick.

all of the time. When it comes down to giving them proper equipment to go to war, or healthcare, or nutrition for their families the republicans couldn't care less about the troops. Just like bush, republicans are all hat, no cattle.
