I just don't get why everything turns political. Instead of being disgusted with the Judge and the rapists, they find another way to take a shot at Obama. It's just sickening. What can Obama do to this judge? And why can't he sign an executive order to put rape cases in federal court?

(45,274 posts)the garbage collectors always make such a racket at 6:30 in the goddam morning. Why won't Obama do something about it?

(9,478 posts)it's worthy, but the precedent is scary. Important separations of power exist in our gov't to separate the President from the military. Look at every bad country and their leaders were probably military leaders who led a coup against the gov't. That's why the military is overseen by the civilian President. The President can't use the military within the country for law enforcement purposes. The upper level military are not supposed to speak about politics or the military in public. I think this should and will be appealed. scotus may ultimately hear this case. I tried to do a little research on the judge. I didn't find much, but he doesn't seem like a rwnj. Could be wrong. I think the larger problem is that many soldiers think it's okay to talk the shit they do about the President. This wouldn't have happened in the military twenty years ago. I think both the rape problem and the CIC problem are that the commanders have lost control of their soldiers. It's sad and scary. I think the multiple deployments have contributed to that.

(37,364 posts)who are always screaming for the President to issue executive orders in response to every issue or grievance if Congress hadn't blurred the separation between the legislative and the executive branches by abdicating its oversight role and legislating away its war power. They are usually the same people who shriek the loudest when he uses them. I think that he has been trying to force Congress to do its job but it has become a haven for teabagger scoundrels. When the branches of government do not do their assigned jobs, a vaccuum is created and someone seeks to fill it.
